On Retainer

When way is made through

hands that help, I’m here.

real question

What could you do with the right support?

I know you’ve got shit to do while you’re here. You’ve been around the block a time or two and know that your time here isn’t unlimited. It might feel harsh to hear it that way, but it’s true.

You’re a little bit witchy and a little bit rock-n-roll, and you just KNOW that if you could find someone who’s on your wavelength with things, together, you could DO THIS THING.

Hey there. I agree with you. (Are you ready to do this thing?)

from here to there

More Time

When you’re at the point of trying to juggle too many balls, it’s time to let some of it go so that you have the time and energy to do what NEEDS you to be the one doing it.

Less Stress

Once we learn each other and have some mutual trust and respect in place, I become like your right hand, just taking care of what needs done so that you don’t stress over it.

More Focus

Having fewer bits of the day-to-day minutiae will free up your focus for the things that really matter. You know, the things that really move the needle on the biz.

Two coffee cups on wooden table. Angel Sullivan, Virtual Assistant, step one of retainer client relationship

first

Phase One

Peruse this site and take your time getting to know me a bit. Once you’ve got the feel for who and how I am, and believe this would be a mutually beneficial working relationship, go ahead and reach out so that we can take the next steps.

There’s never any pressure (because I detest that way of doing anything), and I promise I don’t bite (though I do carry a strong Primal Animal archetype 🤷🏼‍♀️).

Phase Two

Once we’ve both decided this feels like a good fit in terms of our personalities, needs, schedules, and the work, we’ll enter into a 3-month trial period (with a contract).

We’ll remain in close touch through the three months and, assuming all goes well, at that time will move forward into the long-term work together.

finally

Phase Three

You begin to expand more and more (and more) into the fullness of who you are, and who you want to be, while I take care of the details you’d rather not worry about.

As the end of our contracted time approaches, we’ll have a low-key chat about what comes next. Maybe that was all you needed and you’re good to go. Maybe it means we do another round. Either way, all good.

underneath it all…

This is what I most want you to know.

I truly give a shit. I remember having a client years ago who said in her testimonial “Angel almost cares more than I do…” and she was right.

When I accept a client (returning or new), it’s because not only are WE a good fit, but your work is something that also matters, deeply, to me.

And yeah, that means I’ll give it as much as I give to all the things that are most important to me.

This is for you if…

  • Your business is solid and growing, and regular support would allow you to expand as you’d like.

  • You’re someone who communicates directly and kindly, and who expects the same in return.

  • You walk your talk in your private life similarly to how you do in your public life.

  • You’re great with jumping on a Zoom video call as needed, but are equally great with Voxer and email in between those calls.

  • You don’t believe in business emergencies (unless something is on fire, or someone is bleeding).

This is not for you if…

  • You support That Former Guy.

  • Your religion, politics, or personality prevent you from extending kindness and humanity to LGBTQI+ human beings.

  • You have a tendency toward running on adrenaline and find yourself embroiled in drama and emergencies more often than not.

  • You’re looking for a VA who’s super glam and / or who will dress and accessorize as you deem fit. (I know, but seriously, I’ve seen this. It’s unreal.)

  • You’re neurotypical and are uncomfortable with someone whose brain works just a little bit differently to yours.

FAQ

  • I mean, I’m not a monster. 😊

That said, I take our contract seriously, and hope you do as well. If something truly has changed, and that prevents our continued work, let’s talk about it and work something out. It’s not the end of the world.

(Again, no true emergencies. I have yet to see the sky fall, and sincerely hope I don’t ever have to eat my words there!)

  • You’ll reach out to start, and while my preference is generally email and / or Voxer, I’m also happy to have an initial short Zoom video call so that we can both get a feel for the situation.

Beyond that, you’re welcome to really take your time here on the site getting to know who I am. You can also see more of me over on my other site. Check out the testimonials from previous clients, and let me know if you have specific questions.

  • Click right here to get some ideas, with the understanding that this isn’t a complete list, but rather is a jumping off point.

  • Retainer work is more for someone who’s looking for a right-hand person to help manage things. Whether that means taking care of all the little details of daily (biz) stuff so that you don’t need to, or coordinating various contract staff, or something in between.

Project work is for things like the creation of a Teachery course / classroom, work on a Squarespace site, creating a set number of templates for your newsletter, etc…

  • I’d be concerned if you didn’t!

There’s a clause in the contract around this but also - I have a thing about privacy myself so I am very careful about this.

I don’t share details about clients anywhere else, period (unless they’ve given me explicit approval; for example as a testimonial).

You can learn more about my values here. Integrity is way up there for me.
